I think this photograph is in deep contrast to the other works shown in Man Ray's gallery. It is tender, beautifully posed, the contrast of shading is exquisite, the whole a picture of mother love (even if the posers were not related). I have never seen any of his work before but have been impressed by what I have now seen.
