Parthalon Flyingsnake DeCoursy Again with the Alors by Bernie Quigley on 2005-06-14

. . . the Earth Mother is not a metaphor for the Woman in the World in this picture - it is the other way around - the Woman in the World is a metaphor for the Eerth Woman - it is same with La Gioconda - the earth and slow-moving water (Tao)in the background is the Thing Itself, the Person its Outer-World manifestation with dwindling chi manifestation. But alors, using metaphor as a concept makes it almost impossible to learn anything . . . . LIke Whistler's "Portrait of My Mother" and La Giocondo, the Woman in the World looks left of frame, (always to the Inner Life) and mourns the loss of her Original Nature - (most distant - far away and framed in Portrait of my Mother, as in a crate).
