Nude Descending a Staircase no 2 1912 by Mario Kapalka on 2013-06-16
To me the objective of the 'Nudes' is effectively much more sophisticated than simply a combining of cubism and surrealism. The objective is to show the 'animation' of 'Nude' not as a series of seperate frames but as one frame with all frames superimposed. In a sense the 'abstraction' is a product of the approach Marcel Duchamp has taken to the representation of the Nude.
